Description
Mills were a frequent motif used by Cotman, examples of which can be seen in the collections of the British Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum. In these mill scenes he regularly feathured cattle and streams. This watercolour also exhibits the influence on his work of Truner and Romanticism.
