Description
Ellis was a part of the Northwood Group (who included Antonio Dattilo Rubbo, Roland Wakelin and Lloyd Rees), who would often go on plein air trips to sites around New South Wales, sometimes even returning to the same sites for months.
It was made while the artist was living in 45 Prince Albert Street, Mosman and exhibited in the Bissieta Art Gallery opened in her old home and Rubbo's old school at 70 Pitt street. This solo exhibition had 44 works in it and was opened by the Senior New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Sydney, J.A Malcolm.
