Description
Oil painting of a rural New Zealand landscape showing a pond covered with green weed on the surface of the water. In the centre of the pond is a large tree stump emerging from the water as well as a large tree behind the stump with the right branch splitting and peeling off the main trunk. The banks of the pond are covered with grass with reeds on the edges of the water. In the foreground two bare trees frame the image each side of the pond. In the background is a white wooden railed fence frunning from the left towards the centre of the image. Behind the fence is a stand of reddish brown trees. Behind the central tree stumps is a dark evergreen tree. The sky is blue with several white clouds. The colours are predominantly shades of green with reds and browns.
