Description
This painting depicts local Muaupoko iwi living and eeling on the shores of Lake Horowhenua, located outside of Levin. It was likely painted during the 1850s when Fox spent prolonged time at his home, Westoe, in Rangitikei. It may also be the basis of a John Hoyte painting held at the Alexander Turnbull Library - Ref: C-052-007
