Description
A later potrait, possibly showing the artists growing interest in and influence of Cezanne .In her later years, particularly after the death of her teacher, mentor and friend Antonio Dattillo Rubbo passed away, Ellis's colour palette evolved from brighter hot pinks and browns which had predominated her earlier works to cool blues and greens as can be seen in this portrait.
