timber

across
Whanganui’s
wild
beaches
when
he
was
artist-in
residence
at
Tylee
Cottage
in
1988,
that
he
spent
his
time
here
creating
a
body
of
wooden
relief
works
and
sculptures-
Organon
was
one
of
these
that
I
love."

driftwood assemblage
Description
An example of Williams' use of wood as a result of his time as Tylee Cottage artist in residence. Formed of driftwood lifted from Whanganui's beaches the work is formed of a grid of triangles of wood with the grain going in different directions forming a pattern. Framed with more re-purposed wood.
