Description
In 1992 with the assistance of Creative NZ, Rudd was able to purchase a large new kiln that enabled him to work on a much larger scale and experiment with glazes, up until this point Rudd had been using the Raku firing technique. The three vessel forms from 1994 in the Collection reflect Rudd not only working on a much bigger format but also mastering the incredibly difficult crawl glaze and using colour where previously he was restricted to grey, black and white.
