Part of a series the artist did depicting New Zealand dancer and choreographer Douglas Wright. Elizabeth Caughey describes the works as - exploring the threshold between endings and beginnings, movement and stillness. Suspended seemingly in defiance of gravity, he was portrayed in poses that suggested transcendence – over death, gravity, pain and living.
