About the Work
Much
of
Parsons’
artwork
uses
elements
of
codes
and
numbers
as
well
as
building
blocks.
It
is
possible
that
the
punched
holes
at
the
back
of
the
photographs
are
a
reference
to
the
stiff
punch
cards
used
in
computers
in
the
1970s
and
1980s
to
record
digital
information
(the
information
was
represented
by
the
presence
or
absence
of
holes
in
predefined
positions).
Punched
cards
were
widely
used
in
the
data
processing
industry
for
data
input,
output,
and
for
storage
of
information.
