About the Work
This
cast
glass
piece
was
part
of
the
title
work
Fancy
Fools
Flight
which
was
commissioned
for
the
Crystal
Chain
Gang’s
debut
solo
public
gallery
exhibition
at
the
Sarjeant
Gallery.
In
its
entirety
the
work
consisted
of
15
character
bottles
which
made
up
the
whole
suite,
however
each
of
the
bottles
are
individual
pieces.
Shiphand
provides
an
appropriate
companion
to
the
Queenie
bottle
2013/1/1.
They
could
be
exhibited
either
together
or
alone.

Description
Cast glass bottle with heavy base in blue/grey glass, the rest of the piece is made from clear glass with numerous air bubbles in it. The bottle has a narrow neck with a glass stopper in the shape of a bust of a man.
