Description
Scene depicting a man kneeling at the alter of a church surrounded by monks and priests. The central figure, Rahere, possibly represents the historical figure of the same name who was a clergyman for King Henry I. He is said to have established the Priory Church of St Bartholomew in gratitude to God after recovering from a severe fever.
