About the Work
This
series
of
posters
was
produced
by
University
Lithographers
(Ann
Arbor
Michigan,
USA)
as
a
promotion
for
their
new
logo.
The
originals
were
16x20
archival
prints
on
Agfa
Protriga
Rapid
Paper,
selenium
toned
and
hand
tinted
with
Marshall's
Oils.
They
were
taken
on
Polaroid
4x5
negative
post
film
when
I
had
a
grant
from
Polaroid.
From
these
the
posters
were
printed
in
a
signed
limited
edition
of
about
500.
The
original
prints
were
sold
in
the
Detroit
area
through
Xochipilla
Gallery
in
Birmingham,
MI,
which
represented
me
from
1970-1996
when
they
closed.
At
least
one
was
sold
to
the
Restaurant
at
the
top
of
the
Renaisssance
Centre,
along
with
others
when
the
restaurant
first
opened.
