About the Work
These
'Rehua'
works
which
I
have
been
calling
"heat-prints"
are
thermographs.
They
are
made
by
"drawing"
with
a
heat-gun
used
for
paint-stripping.
Metal
objects
are
laid
on
top
of
a
Gestetner
mastering
sheet,
and
the
hot
air
from
the
gun
is
blown
over
it.
The
wax
and
carbon
melt
together
producing
negative
and
positive
versions
of
each
image.
