Description
a) Sketchbook containing drawings by Vivian Smith. Subjects include: caricatures of heads, mythological figures, a violin, anatomical studies, architecture studies, composition studies, and landscape studies.
A label affixed to the front of the book indicates that it was used by Vivian Smith during his time at Wanganui Technical College (1931-1946). One of the drawings is dated August 1937.
b) Page containing two drawings illustrating the story Jack and the Beanstalk. The scene on the left shows the giant standing in a landscape holding a large club, while the scene on the right shows Jack chopping down the beanstalk while the giant climbs down it catch him.
