About the Work
I was working towards the Road to Jerusalem work [2019/1/18]. The oyster shells actually came from under the bridge at Mangamahu and I didn't use them finally. I think the idea of a river sequence sprung from my memories of rafting down the Whakatane River from Ruahina to Te Teko with my father + brother. You got these solitary huts + points on the journey. Whilst I ended my Jerusalem journey with Hiruharama Church I unified the final painting with the entrance gateway from Koriniti Pa.
