The photographer Annie Davis was well known to Edith as there is correspondence between Annie's sister Ethel and Edith in the Edith Collier Trust Archive.
Annie Davis owned a studio, together with photograph Emily Collis, in Whanganui's Ridgway Street from 1899-1901. She subsequently moved to Auckland where she had her images published in the Auckland Weekly news in 1911 and 1912.
