Dear Edith,
I received your parcel on Xmas day & I must thank you very much for it. I suppose Hal will be back in N.Z now. The Cathedral on the other side is a great sight. It is supposed to be the best Cathedral in the world. We crossed the [illeg.] on 21st at about 1 oclock. We are about 2 hours ride in a tram from Bologne. I don’t know yet whether we will get to Blighty or not. Well I will ring off now hoping this finds you quite well
Goodbye your aff cousin
Jim
