Dear Ed.
Very pleased to get your note and enclosing cheque for £10 which I borrowed. I am waiting for my medical [illegible, board?] which is overdue if passed [illegible]. The wing colonel has a job for me down at [illegible] as a pilot of machines on a gunnery course that is to say I pilot a machine while another man fires at a flying target. [illegible] you never know when these jobs are closed so possibly it may gone [sic] by when the board decides on me [illegible]

Kind regards to [illegible] if with you H.
