Dear Ed,
I have been reading a great deal lately thanks [illegible] Paddy + [illegible] which I have read. I liked them. The letters from Ida were nice I’m a big fool with girls Ed. But things will have to straighten out themselves as I do’nt [sic] seem competent to think seriously enough, end up by both getting it. I take years to think about things. By the way it will be about this time next month when I go on leave + I will come to 5 Leinster first. I am glad I’ve got you to back me up in little oversights in lots of things I’m a bit rough shod at times. That’s where a girl hones a chap a bit and makes a gentleman of us roughies. Yes give mrs Hardy a photo certainly Ed, if she would care to have one. I expect John wd be pleased if we sent it.
Done more work lately the weather has been putrid + cold. Snow now for the last week or more. I’ve been feeling the strain of nothing to do consequently had a day or two’s sickness am perfectly well now.
My old bus is still one of the best in the squadron it is a priceless machine. I wd just love to give you a [illegible] in it you wd think you were floating in heaven Ed. on a real nice day. It is just like being in a motor car but ever so much sweeter no vibration + feel [illegible] safe as on the ground. I expect I wd make you sick by trying to [illegible]. I have made my observer very sick indeed by doing too steep turns being so intent at doing my [illegible].
Well I hope you are [illegible] enjoyed Manchester too. I discovered [illegible] message on the envelope which was [illegible] ought to send Reg a line too tonight. How goes the master [illegible] Ed. tell me much. Love + kisses on both cheeks [illegible] your loving B. Harry.
