Dear Ed,
I’m very glad of the Punch + mags thanks very much also the books which I shall endeavour to inwardly digest thereof. Yes I know there is a very special reason but just for my own benefit I want to read more because I’m very lax indeed reading is a little exercise for the mind as [illegible] Lorraine said “blow your nose try to dust your mind I’ll do some reading to get dust up. I ca’nt do enough of it as I’m rusty. You
You are decent putting in a word or two edgeways [illegible, re Lister?] it is much better for you to get in a quiet word or so though dont say anything at all definite for goodness sake like I tried and you made me wise strange to say I’ve written to Grandma just the other day yes it is quite a [illegible] idea giving Granny one of me as you suggest + uncle another too not uncle Jack yes I’d like you to address it to [Jamie?] Parkes. [illegible] eh? [illegible] I think I’ll leave it to what you like best so long as something simple + nice comes along I shall be very pleased to have it. Something fairly small will do nicely.
Very disappointing for both parties [Grace?] would be most annoyed I can guess.
Am keeping quite well + getting sober as ever again. I’m keeping a very firm hold indeed on myself as regards love.
Well Edward how’s miss [illegible] I must close now Ed as I’ve got to do a shoot first thing before breakfast love from [illegible]
