My dear Edith,
I expect you have been calling me some nice names for being so long writing you.
Grandma I expect will have told you all the news but if I put off writing any longer it will be Xmas time. I hope you will come down & stay with us soon. I thought perhaps you might manage to get down on the 9th or at show time, write & let us know if you can manage it. Grand ma & Auntie seemed to enjoy themselves while here. You must come & see what you think of the young man. I expect Grandma would tell you about him. Uncle Sid is talking of going to Dunedin with Harry at Xmas but nothing has been decided yet. I expect I will see a good many changes in Wanganui as I have not been up for twelve months.
I hope Mother will not have to go to Brunswick to stay as she seems to dread having to go. What is this you are getting at about the new baby? You will see a great difference in [Gwen?] she has grown such a big girl & is a great Tom Boy. I must thank your mother for the photo of the house that she sent it looks [illeg.] now. You will have one mansion by this time, it would look alright if the old lady was not there. Water is getting very scarce down here I don’t know what some will do if it does not rain soon. The boys are both getting on well as school, they are looking forward to seeing their names in the paper when they pass Std I. I hope to see your Mother down to stay whenever she can manage to get away but I expect it is not very easy for her to leave her nine young hopefuls. Well Edith I have not given you any news but you will be sure to hear it all from Grandma. Write soon & let us know if you are coming down or after Xmas. Love to all your affect Auntie Annie
