Dear Edith,
I was so pleased to get your letter & I wish you would write again if you have time. It is lovely getting letters when one is away. Do you think I am never coming home? I did not mean to stay so long, but wanted to wait & see [illeg,]
Mrs Finlayson went to Seddon yesterday & Daisy & I are by ourselves all day now. Fancy you and [illeg.] talking all night – however did she manage to get up in the morning & catch her train. I slept with her while she was here, but did not talk all night although the girls [illeg.] we were always having long conversations together in the day time.
Katie & I are going to Te Ara bathes this afternoon after school, we have been several times to Lyall bay for a bathe it is only about ten minutes walk from here, we hope to go for a bathe tomorrow morning about six. There is a dressing shed down there too
Could you really have come to Dunedin after all I wish you had come too & am sure you would have enjoyed it. Didn’t Muriel have a lovely long holiday, you seem to have seen quite a lot of one another. I expect you all miss her very much now.
I’m so glad you have [illeg.] so many examinations. I saw your name five times on the [illeg.] this morning. Are you going to continue your studies this year? You could get some lovely sketches down here of the water with great blue dim hills in the distance. Some of us went for a row on the bay one night – it was frightfully rough & we were tossed about. I helped to row but got very tired, I don’t think any of us enjoyed it very much. Daisy & I went out to see Miss Haggett to tea one day & she came here on Tuesday, it was nice to see her again.
I went to [illeg.] Johns B C last Sunday with Katie, they make so much of you there & don’t let you feel a [illeg.] strange. Are you going up to the farm at all this summer? We had a party here on Tuesday night, they [illeg.] very lively [illeg.] as you can imagine! Katie has just come home to lunch so I had better leave off now. Katie sends her love to you & our congratulations to you, [illeg.]

There is a lady here who is studying art & is very interested in it, what did you mean about the C papers? I can’t remember I seem to have been away such a long time & am looking forward to seeing you again. I’m glad you have been out with Olive.
With love from your friend Minna
I supose [suppose] you are missing Miss Copeland. Did your grandma ever find her luggage?
