7th. Dec. 1916
Dear Edith,
Its very good of you to keep me supplied with all the news, as I haven’t had any letters from home for a long time. The reason is that they all put the wrong address, I gave it to them when I left & tacked it up on the wall also told them twice in England & still they send it.
Thanks very much for the cake which I received two nights ago & the five pounds last night, which was very welcome. Hal seems to have had a good time in Edinburgh & will find it hard you got £25 for me. I got ten more letters from home dated 6th Dec, a pair of knitted socks from Hilda Wesney & two other parcels. I would like to have Mrs Harrisons knitted socks as they are the best. I have been with Jim everynight for the last fortnight, we exchange our letters from [?APn[ & are amusing, talking about us both. Had a letter from Hal too. Well Edith I want to write several more so will close now, you will be greatly excited at seeing him he will be there anytime now
with much love
from your loving brother
