My dear old Collier
I [illeg.] you are having a good time and don’t hate me for backing out at the last moment. Not that you’ve [illeg.] much. I spent the entire day in bed (with bottle – not whiskey) and am [illeg.] ever than usual. Selfridge put the parcel but no letter. I wrote again.
I’m most awfully sorry I couldn’t come. And I miss you.
Good luck

This [illeg.] & [illeg.] last thing so the P.O can’t read it.
