About the Work
TRANSCRIPTION:
Dear Ed,
You will be glad to hear that £50 has been cabled there by Dad for me. I’m pleased for your sake, it will relieve the pressure a bit for both of us.
I hope you are quite cheerful & not worrying about the exhib. Although I [am] awfully sorry for you but I expect there is time yet & perhaps you can try again next year. I was very lucky with my test, it fortunately doesn’t count as it is the first which I got through that counts. Will be wiring again if I’m [sic] coming or not on Sat or Sunday. Good-bye Edith I got the socks safely xx
Your loving brother
Harry

Description
Photocopy of a postcard to Edith Collier from her brother Harry. It is handwritten in black ink and dated April 25, 1917. Recto has ‘POSTCARD’ printed in green ink, along with postmarks in black ink and a green stamp. Verso has the logo of the Royal Flying Corps printed in black ink. Harry talks about some money that has been cabled, but it is hard to discern the context. He hopes she is not worrying about an exhibition and says she can perhaps try again next year. He says he was unlucky with his test, but that it doesn’t count as it is the first one he got through that did. He says he will wire though on Saturday or Sunday whether or not he is coming.
