Dear Edith
The picture of the Irish Peasant arrived this week – the family verdict was that it was very good – I think it shows a great advance on anything else you have done in this class of work – we have [illeg.] [illeg.] from you as to what the subjects of the picture [illeg.] brought out is – it is still in doubt although [illeg.] are quite agreed that the back ground [illeg.] a wide valley or flat – Mother has written this mail twice [illeg.] told you all the news. I posted a letter for you from Harry as he had no envelopes where he wrote from
I posted a letter from [illeg.] I [illeg.] your cello teacher has given you [illeg.] of course I have said you ought to practice [illeg.] years ago but you didn’t follow my advice – It is not too late yet – Young Buck gives a concert last week after [illeg.] from his studio in [illeg.] – he surprised everyone I think by the [illeg.] program he made the concert was a great success – you will be back in London when you receive this – you [illeg.] me when I stayed when in London – my lodgings were Oxford St [illeg.][illeg.] It was an [illeg.] [illeg.] & was nice & central – there and some good concerts every Sunday afternoon in the Queens Hall – you ought to attend these.
