Dear Father
Are you still organist [?] at the Presbyterian church I hope you haven’t made Rev [illegible] hair stand on end by being just a tiny bit late.
I got a letter from Sylvia Collier (that was this morning she had just got back from her honeymoon. they had been to Rye Valley, Oxford & London. They are going to live in Manchester. (not far from [illegible])
Miss Budson [?] gave me a lot of work to do over here, she lent me a book of [illegible] studies – said I was to do far more technical stuff for a bit. I do wish I had gone to her before. When I get back to London I’ll get someone [?] to play with.
Many happy returns for the 13 of July a bit late I am sending you out a painting (an old man) This is a grand place for painting. Models of all sorts seascape & landscape without going far. It has been very wet lately so I have I have been working indoors tomorrow I am starting a picture of an old man sitting by an old fashioned window mending a net. It is a large canvas. I have done mostly children & just going to do heads in [illegible] pastille well I have given you enough about myself & my doing.
Where abouts did you live in London? I left a lot of my things in a cuboard [cupboard] at Mrs Proctor’s it is very handy having hers, she lets me do anything there. With love to all from your loving daughter Edith.
