My Darling Edith,
I have been going to write to you after [illeg.] suppose Vera told you we were coming to the South Island for a long holiday. Jessie and I. We have had a great time. I went in to Dunedin to see the [illeg.] my cousins, last week. Call to see Mrs Stewart, and she told me your Granmother [sic] was ill, I am sorry Edith. I wish I could send her some flowers, but we have none here, tell her I am very sorry, and give her my love will you. I did like her, I wish I could see you all again, did Vera tell you I was thinking of going into the hospital, they are very much against it at home, but they wont [illeg.]. I will love the work. I [illeg.]
