Dear Miss Collier
I swore I would write to you to tell you of my safe arrival – alone – as has I had too much luggage even to accommodate a train!
How [illeg.] the painting & I am imagining you & Miss Cadell hard at work on heads of [illeg.] people & children, & do so wish I were down there too. Miss Hodgkins picture has arrived to the great astonishment & amusement of my brother! My Mother thinks anyway my sketching lessons won’t have done me any harm! I wonder how your people will take your pictures on your return to NZ?! So [illeg.] & cold it is up here.
I wonder if you have [illeg.] up whether you can stay on this side abit [sic] longer. The pension ladys home in Paris I told you of is
