About the Work
This photograph was taken on the film set of 'Predicament', which was shot in South Taranaki in 2009. The movie was based on the book of the same name, by Hawera-born writer Ronald Hugh Morrieson. The carcass is a prosthetic dummy from the butcher's shop window in the film set. It is fabricated from fibreglass.

The film 'Predicament' (2010) was the last of Morrieson's novels to be adapted for cinema. Starring Hayden Frost, Jemaine Clement, and Australian comedian Heath Franklin, it won six technical awards at the 2011 Aotearoa Film and Television Awards. The movie was partly filmed in the Taranaki towns of Hawera and Eltham.
