About the Work
Frank Denton framed this photograph for his grand-daughter Beth to hang in her bedroom, circa 1950s. He framed it himself, and also taught Beth how to frame photographs using this same passe-partout method.

Description
Black and white sepia toned photograph of a river curving through dense New Zealand bush. Trees frame the image in the foreground and the shutter speed was slow so the water is 'feathered' as it passes over the rocks in the river. The photograph is in its original black passe-partout frame.
