Description
Four various clippings adhered to a sheet of white foolscap paper. Three clipping are from newspapers and one is a photocopy. Clipping 1 is an exhibition review written by Stewart Maclennan about Edith's exhibition held at the NZ Academy of Fine Arts in Wellington in 1956; Clipping 2 is written by Frank Rutter and is a review of a the 62nd annual exhibition of the Society of Women Artists held at the R.B.A. Galleries in Pall Mall East, London. Edith Collier's "Rocks on Bonmahon" (Cat. no. 186) is mentioned as being "excellently composed and the forms are cleverly simplified." Clipping 3 is a second review of her 1956 exhibition at the NZ Academy of Fine Arts, written by an unknown writer. Clipping 4 is a photocopy of text about Edith Collier, most likely taken from a published book? Date and author is unknown. Nothing attached to the verso of the sheet of foolscap paper
