Description
Colour photograph showing the empty interior of a hall (Howick RSA). There are heavy roof beams above and a brown vinyl floor and the image is facing a white wall. In the centre of the wall is a single green (with black spots) chair missing one arm rest. To the right of a chair is a white fabric curtain that is closed. Directly above the chair is a framed black and white portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, framed with what appears to a a gilt frame. Immediately to the left (as viewed) of the portrait is a white plastic box mounted on the wall with a red sticker. To the far left of the Queen's portrait is a framed image of what looks like a 'pioneer' or colonial copy standing in a coastal NZ landscape with ships behind them and a cabbage tree to their side. Below this image and leaning against the wall are several folded trestle tables. The skirting board is painted a deep blue in contrast with the white wall.
