Ethel Margaret Davis was born in 1879. Her older sister is Annie Davis (who worked as a photographer in Wellington, Whanganui & Auckland).
Ethel was a friend of Edith Colliers and the two of them were photographed by Annie. Some of these images are in the Edith Collier Trust archive in the care of the Sarjeant Gallery, as well as written correspondence between them.
Ethel married George Ellison in 1906.
She died in 1961.
