Jimsie C. Fraser

Biography
Miss Jimsie C. Fraser was a well-known artist in Dunedin who painted New Zealand landscapes and exhibited with the Otago Arts Society (1894 + other dates unknown) and also with Auckland Society of Arts. She regularly sold her work at auction in Dunedin but also in Wellington. It appears she was also a musician and benefactor and ran her own business specialising in luggage and crockery.
See news articles and web links below where she is mentioned:

Mention of her in the personal column in the Evening Star Issue 18037, 3 Aug 1922, page 7
"Miss Jimsie C. Fraser, artist, left by the express to-day for Christchurch."

She is referred to as the former owner of this travel case in the collection of Wyndham and District Historical Museum WY.1991.2
"This case was sold through the 'Home of Suitcases' store, located on Stuart Street, Dunedin and owned by Miss Jimsie C Fraser. Miss Fraser must have been a very interesting and entrepreneurial character - a recognised painter, musician and benefactor, as well as running her own business specialising in luggage and crockery."
