Sue Cooke
Biography
Sue Cooke was born in Sydney, Australia in 1960 and immigrated to New Zealand in 1973. She completed a Diploma of Fine Arts with Honours at University of Canterbury, Christchurch from 1980 - 1984. Since then she has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand in solo shows, including Robert McDougall Art Gallery Christchurch in 1987; Sarjeant Gallery, Whanganui in 1992 and 2013, as well as Manawatu Art Gallery in 1993; as well as in group shows. She was artist in residence at Sarjeant Gallery's Tylee Cottage for 12 months from 1990-1991. Her work is held in many collections in New Zealand including the Christchurch Art Gallery, Dunedin Public Art Gallery and the Sarjeant Gallery. She lives and works in Whanganui.
