Tangi for Mururoa Atoll

Tony Fomison, Artist

This is one of the drawings in our collection. It was made in 1974. The place where it was made is unknown.
About the Work
After his move to Auckland in 1973 Fomison became deeply interested and connected to the local Polynesian communities and cultures. This drawing, along with the others he did at this time, is a response to the nuclear testing that occurred at Mururoa Atoll and the way in which it affected the region.
