Description
A landscape painter in both oils and watercolour, his works were almost universally admired during his artistic career. The Wanganui Chronicle referred to them as ‘gems’, the Otago Daily Times called his paintings ‘spirited’ while the Dominion stated that his work was ‘really admirable’ and the Press ‘excellent’. This works shows Howorth's signature colour palette of green and blue with misty, atmospheric backgrounds.
