002 from Heartland Series, Whanganui River (Series title). Photographs taken during the Heartland television series includes excellent documentary narrative depictions of local Māori. This image is of Tommy Teanor, who shot outside the homestead in the back ground.
"John McDermott is an Auckland based photographer who, like Robin Morrison before him, has travelled and documented the heartland of New Zealand from North to South. He has produced a series of memorable books including The Roaring Forties, Our City and the iconic Heartland.
