Edwardian silk fan

Unknown, Maker

This is one of the decorative arts in our collection. It was made in Great Britain in circa 1900-1910.
About the Work
An Edwardian bone folding fan with silk satin mount or leaf. Note the joins at the shoulder and on the guards to gain the length required. The double mount is painted with spray of flowers in gouache. The hand painting is not of a high quality, which is common in commercially produced fans of this period.
