Just caught that wretched train! Wasn’t I lucky. It began to move as I dashed on the platform but with the assistance of a very kind guard I flung myself into the last carriage! You haven’t any idea how [illeg] I was to leave for [illeg.] that rude & [illeg.] [illeg.] but you understood didn’t you? It was so [illeg.] good of you to come all that way in the cold [illeg.] I hardly said thank you! I felt such a wretch when I got settled down & had time to think. I hope you hadn’t to wait long for a train ride. Much love
