Dear Miss Urquhart,
I am absolutely ashamed of myself for not writing The reason is I didn’t want to write till I cant give that bit of money I owed, the list was at home & do you think I could remember to get it when I went home there was always visitors about – so I usually thought of it in the middle of the night. Well here it is & many thanks for it
At Bombay you spent 7/6
My share - 3/9
At Colombo you spent £1-10
My share - 15/
At Freemantle you lent me £1 out of that I sent a telegram for you 2/8.

Let me know if I have made a mistake.
I haven’t heard from Miss Jones what a shame her mother being so ill.
No! there is no studio & no pomgrantes [sic] in site yet but I still I still live in hopes.
My grandmother is so very ill, it seems as if she cant live another day.
England feels a long way from NZ – would you like to go back without the sea trip eh?
I know I would even if we had another ‘Befre’ near us.
Were your cousins on the “Wiltshire”
One of my brothers gave me a nephew not long ago that is the only exciting thing that has happened – have you any news?
With best wishes
Yours very sincerely
