Description
Single foolscap white page with 4 newspaper clippings about Edith Collier attached. The first is a photocopy titled "Miss E.M. Collier Dies Suddenly" from the Wanganui Herald Dec 1984; Clipping 2 is titled "Airmen of Two Wars: Academy Portraits" about the showing of Edith Collier's portraits at the NZ Academy of Fine Arts in Wellington; Clipping 3 is titled " 300 Guests at Gallery Private View" about the opening of the exhibition of Edith Collier's work at the NZ Academy of Fine Arts, most likely dated 1956 and in a Wellington paper; Clipping 4 is titled "Wanganui Artist's Exhibition Draws Praise in Hamilton" and is about Edith Collier's exhibition there, the article is assumed to have been published in a Whanganui paper, it is undated, it states "Miss Collier is one of New Zealand's top-ranking artists of the older generation, but almost all the best work in her exhibition was executed in Enland, Wales, and Ireland."
