About the Work
These dog tags were for James Herbert Golding Alp (New Zealander b.1911, d.1989), a former custodian at the Sarjeant Gallery, when he was interred as a prisoner of war at the Stammlager IV B camp in Germany during WWII.

Description
Two zinc metal prisoner of war tags with punched holes and stamped text. Each tag has a curved top. One has a single punched hole at centre top and the other has two punched holes through the metal at centre top. Both are stamped with the following text on one side "Stalag IV B 228382".
