Anthony Davies

Biography
Born in Andover, Hampshire, England, Anthony Davies attended the Winchester School of Art and the Royal College of Art, London.

He was the recipient of the 'Prix de Rome' (for etching) during his time at the British School at Rome, an academic research school for British artists in Rome. He also took up the John Brinkley Fellowship from the Norfolk Institute of Art and Design, Norwich.
Davies is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) which was established in London in 1888.

Davies moved permanently to New Zealand in 1994 as the artist in residence at Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland. In 1995, Davies was invited as a guest professor at Florida State University. He later moved to Aramoho, Wanganui in 2002 and founded Hotspur Studios, where he produces intaligo, lithographic and serigraphic prints.
