Biography
Born on a farm in Virden, Springfield, Illinois, USA. Died in a balloon accident in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA. Dunkard (German Brethren) family. Occupations included music teacher, guitarist, opera singer, actor, photographer, balloonist, aeronaut, aeroplane mechanic and builder, inventor of a dirigible balloon and balloon hanger. Known in New Zealand for his large panoramic photographs taken in 1902-1903.
