Laurence Aberhart // Photographer
Born 1949, Nelson. Self taught as a photographer, since 1967.
Lives in Russell with his partner.
Included in numerous nationally toured exhibitions including The Active Eye [1975], Views/Exposures[1981], Headlands [1992]. and two nationally toured solo exhibitions, Nature Morte [1990] and All Gates Open [1998].
First one person exhibition was at the Peter McLeavey Gallery, [Wellington] 1978. Regularly exhibits in Wellington, Auckland, Sydney and Hong Kong; has exhibited work in Los Angeles and throughout Australia.
In 2000/2001 he carried out a major body of work in Macau; a catalogue of this work Ghostwriting was published.
In 2003 the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Holland hosted a one person exhibition of his work in conjunction with an exhibition of Colin McCahon
His work is in all major New Zealand public art gallery collections and in the collections of:

Laurence Aberhart // Photographer
Born 1949, Nelson. Self taught as a photographer, since 1967.
Lives in Russell with his partner.
Included in numerous nationally toured exhibitions including The Active Eye [1975], Views/Exposures[1981], Headlands [1992]. and two nationally toured solo exhibitions, Nature Morte [1990] and All Gates Open [1998].
First one person exhibition was at the Peter McLeavey Gallery, [Wellington] 1978. Regularly exhibits in Wellington, Auckland, Sydney and Hong Kong; has exhibited work in Los Angeles and throughout Australia.
In 2000/2001 he carried out a major body of work in Macau; a catalogue of this work Ghostwriting was published.
In 2003 the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Holland hosted a one person exhibition of his work in conjunction with an exhibition of Colin McCahon
His work is in all major New Zealand public art gallery collections and in the collections of:
