John Duncan

Biography
Born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1881, Dr John Duncan had no formal art training. He associated with painters all his life and was greatly influenced by artists such as Gruner while in Sydney in 1931. In 1934 Duncan won the Bledisloe Medal for the best landscape of the year. His work is represented in the Auckland City Art Gallery. He died in 1942.
