Description
Before studying under Rubbo, Ellis studied drawing under H Linley Richardson and while we know of no examples made during this time, she mentions this in an early curriculum vitae of her work and it is sure to have made an influence on her understanding of the human figure. While Ellis became very profficient in and well known for her watercolour and oil painting, she also practiced in pen and ink.
