Illustrations reproduced after a series of drawings by Vivian Smith as follows:
Top left: The image depicts the head of a soldier with a cigarette in his mouth. It is signed and dated 1918. This image was published on page 31 of the journal The Link, from which this copy has been removed. A copy of this journal held by the Auckland Museum contains a handwritten note identifying the soldier depicted as Lieutenant McKay.
Top centre: The image depicts the head of a soldier in three-quarter view and is captioned: “Arfa”. It is signed and dated 1918. This image was published on page 28 of the journal The Link, from which this copy has been removed. A copy of this journal held by the Auckland Museum contains a handwritten note identifying the soldier depicted as Lieutenant Declan [sp?].
Bottom left: The image depicts the head of a soldier in profile and is captioned: Magazine Secretary. It is signed and dated 1919. The image was published on page 31 of the journal Homeward Bound, from which this copy has been removed. The solider depicted is possibly Keith De Maus (service number 6/35).
Bottom centre: The image depicts the head and shoulders of a soldier and is captioned “Gifts”. The work is signed and dated 1918. The image was published on page 34 of the journal The Link, from which this copy has been removed. A copy of this journal held by the Auckland Museum contains a handwritten note identifying the soldier depicted as L Hurst.
Far right: Page of illustrations published on page 6 of journal Homeward Bound, from which this copy has been removed. The image, which includes the portraits of five soldiers, is labelled: THE EADS.
The board is undated, but was possibly compiled in the mid-1920s.
